When a series of photographs are arranged along with text, what all can we call it? A photobook, if the intention of the photographer is to focus on high production value of the book, with faithful reproductions of the photograph. An artist book, if there is an impulse towards artistic experimentation in the narrative and design.
A photo-novel which is an orphan of cinema and literature is different medium. Isn’t it? But what if the photographs are not production stills from a film, but photographs of reality, then can it be called photo-non-fiction??
